Akkineni Nagarjuna (brought into the world 29 August 1959) is an Indian film on-screen character, film maker, and business person known for his work essentially in Telugu Cinema. He has gotten nine state Nandi Awards, three Filmfare Awards South and a National Film Award-Special Mention. In 1996, he created Ninne Pelladata, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu.

In 1989, he featured in the Mani Ratnam coordinated sentimental show film Geetanjali, which won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. The next year, he acted in Siva, an activity show blockbuster coordinated by Ram Gopal Varma, which debuted at the thirteenth International Film Festival of India.In 1990, he made his Bollywood debut with the Hindi redo of Shiva. In 1998, he got the National Film Award-Special Mention for his exhibition in the verifiable film Annamayya.
